Preparation for Job Seeking
Interview Skills: Minus and Plus during Leaderless Group Discussion
Leaderless Group Discussion is widely used in recruitment in Chinese campus recruitment. Usually, a very tough work situation is described and candidates try to solve the problem. There is no correct or best solution to the problems. However HRs will observe the behavior of the candidates and choose those who enter the structured interview round.
Behaviors such as ignoring other’s words, unfriendly disruption, verboseness etc., will cause a candidate to be marked down. For productive behaviors, sensitivity to others, great contribution, and good summary etc., candidates will receive positive marks. Candidates may also fail to move on to structured interviews dur to unawareness of the interview process. Applying experiences in group projects from classes or internships may help job seekers understand how this process works, and will serve as a model for steps they should take.
